These days, naturally, the trousseau is much more modern. In most cases, there are few, if any, “practical” items; that is, the items used for making the new home are not found in the modern day trousseau. Now, more lingerie is included, plenty of nightwear, as well as some luxurious items meant to treat the bride, the groom, and both at the same time. There are lush toiletries, excellent makeup, or even treats like chocolate.
Back to lingerie, however, merely packing panties and bras simply will not cut it. You should have a bridal set, including panties, bra, slip, negligee, and nightgown. This is traditionally worn on the day and night of the wedding, respectively.
Other appropriate items include a housecoat or bed jacket, slippers, stockings, and pajamas.

You have picked out the cake. You have the perfect dress. The flowers are all in order. The venue has been chosen. The bridesmaid dresses and tuxes are all decided.
But what about the bridal trousseau? What about the lingerie you are taking on your honeymoon?
The word “trousseau” is French in origin; it comes from the word “trousse,” which translates into “bundle.” Back in the day, the trousseau included what you may today think of as the hope chest collection. It consisted of everything the bride owned and needed to set up her new home. Typically, pieces of lingerie were by and large handmade, although the Victorians, who made the whole idea of the trousseau much more elaborate, also enhanced the lingerie involved.
So what goes into the modern honeymoon trousseau? Well, keep reading!

Victoria’s Secret has done it again – they have actually come up with a push-up bra that will not only make you increase your cup-size by two sizes but your bust will actually look incredible too. This is a brand new bra – and it is in stores right now. The brand new Victoria’s Secret Miraculous Push-Up Bra is making waves everywhere!
Basically how it works is that the bra is really padded so that it can be worn really comfortably and is completely seamless, which means you can wear it with pretty much anything. The straps are actually convertible as well, and can be worn a number of different ways.
The satin knot actually is used for a little extra push up and a little extra cleavage with just a simple twist.

If there is one thing that I have noticed about Passionata – it is the fresh face that they are having model their brand new Spring/Summer collection for 2010. The model’s name is Bar Refaeli and she is actually an Israeli model that is absolutely beautiful in every single campaign that she has been in. Passionata has done her right.
This French lingerie brand is actually famous for their seductive and sexy designs that Bar Refaeli is showing them off just right. Whether the lingerie is lace or satin, that beautiful body is shown off in all different kinds of lights and the colors of this particular collection are awesome!
If you are in the market for sexy and sweet summer and spring lingerie, Bar Refaeli is definitely going to make the decision easy.

Now that we have talked a little bit about Sisley’s brand new collection, let’s go ahead and take another look at another piece. This piece is actually going right along with the latest trend that is going on in the lingerie scene. Ruffles. Ruffled lingerie is really hot right now and Sisley is keeping up with that particular trend as they litter ruffles throughout their fall/winter collection.
This particular set is very airy, very beautiful and also provides some fantastic support and is totally comfortable. The great thing about Sisley is that they know what a woman wants and most of the time it is luxury and that is exactly what they give them … luxury lingerie.
This piece in particular is beautiful and soft – the fabric feeling almost like butter on your skin. The entire collection? All sorts of various hues and fabrics.

Lingerie is something that is very, very personal – after all, you want to make sure that you wear it to get someone excited, or at least that is why I wear mine. Did you know that there is actually a difference between spring and summer lingerie and fall and winter lingerie? I didn’t until I actually saw Sisley’s brand new fall/winter collection.
This beautiful collection is actually a combination of super-lightness and sophistication. Take this beautiful black piece – not only does the bra and panties set look awesome in general, but the overall fit and appearance of this lingerie is breathtaking.
There is a little tease and a little taunt in this particular piece and I love that. Sisley lingerie is also an awesome brand … but we will get into that in the next blog!

Now, I have always been a fan of Victoria’s Secret. I think that they offer up a wide variety of bra and … well, lingerie in general, however I have heard a lot of complaints from larger breasted women that they can never, ever find the right size. Well – I have to tell you that Victoria’s Secret actually extended their bra sizes to incorporate DDD!
This is huge – really huge and I have to say that I am so proud! You can not get about 12 different styles in sizes 32DDD to 40DDD, which is amazing! These full-figure bras actually offer up not only full coverage, but they are also available in demi, plunge, t-shirt and minimizer styles!
So if you are a fuller woman – finally, you can shop at Victoria’s Secret and buy some sexy lingerie! Congrats!

Ah, Strumpet & Pink, what will you think of next? Primarily known for some seriously high class knickers, you are guaranteed to get pieces which are almost too pretty to even think of wearing. The knickers are limited edition, and each pair is handmade using pure silks, satins, chiffons, and delicate crepe fabrics. So, each pair of knickers is all but guaranteed to be completely one of a kind, a true designer piece of lingerie.
One of my favorites is the Strumpet & Pink Hunting through the Ruffles Knickers. These are so gorgeous and so feminine — yet they hold a bit of wit as well, and that is just scrumptious.
There is fine silk and small, delicate ribbons, which combined to make this a truly flirty pair of knickers!

The thing I love most of the State of Undress lingerie brand is the versatility of so many of the pieces therein. They are nothing less than sensual and quintessentially intimate. Sexy, sophisticated, and even sublime, the lounge wear and the lingerie from State of Undress represents what it means to be a confident woman. Better still, the pieces therein straddle the boundary between lingerie and actual fashion, and what could be better than that?
One great example of this is the State of Undress Loulou Blue Waterlilies Slip and Thong Set. The combination is pretty and feminine to the max. The camisole has a colorful, beautiful silk print with a bright pink ribbon designed to wrap around the body.
Better still? The camisole can be paired with your favorite pair of jeans for a truly innovative new outfit.

Let’s have a little chat about Andrés Sardá — this is a designer that has been around for quite a while now and while I love every single thing that he has done to date, I have to say that I am very, very excited about the brand new SARDA label.
This particular label is actually going to be one of the highest-end lingerie labels and I think that Andrés Sardá really is growing as a designer because of this particular brand. He is breaking the mold all over again with SARDA and you have to love him for it!
So if you are looking for luxury — Andrés Sardá and the SARDA label is definitely the one for you!
