Okay, before you say this article is written about men’s underwear and leave, please wait because this huge, men’s label also produces some fun women’s undergarments as well. But first, I just had to let you ladies know about the 2007 focus of bruno banani. I think it is no surprise that women take more pride in their underwear than men do, so bruno banani sent out his style wardens to strip search men to find out if it was true that eighteen percent of German men do not change their underwear daily. To combat this trend, the company launched their “We Fight Against the Horror” campaign with their special task force “bruno banani Underwear Control”. It apparently proved the message that bb is “not for everybody”, just as their slogan says.
So now that we have had our chuckle for the day, let’s take a peek at the “Funtastics” women collection. Comprised of camisoles, bras and assorted panties, the line comes in varied names such as Venus, Lover, Kiss, Persephone, Tender, Breeze and Mafia. The Honey set in pretty pink, white and green stripes includes a sweet panty with scalloped legs and fancy braided waistband. The Tune ensemble is a striking black collection with tiny white stripes and bold yellow accents on the neck of the camisole and bra straps.
Quickly perusing all the pieces together, one can see that the Funtastics Collection ranges from fun and playful sets, elegant and classic, as well as chic and sexy. The only drawback to the collection is the sizing seems to be limited or inconsistent as not all lines come in all sizes.
Definitely a serious designer collection, founded in 1993, bruno banani marketing has always been successful because it is unique and bb follows its own instincts rather than market fads. In addition to the latest “Underwear Control” campaign, the company has previously conducted “Adventure Tests” in the Rocky Mountains, Colorado, USA, the desert region of Ophir in Africa, and an eco-challenge in Australia.

In true French style, Cervin is a fabulous collection of silk stockings. Deeply rooted in luxury and culture, when Germain Massal first began operations in the 1920s, he made silk stockings to be sent to the Royal and Imperial Courts of Europe. Today, the company is managed by the third generation and the stockings and legwear are as luxurious and as fashionable as the original L’ARSOIE.
Interestingly, Cervin uses a long lost art to make the finest footwear available. Knitting on 3D machines makes the thread and mesh of the stocking perfectly identical from the top to the bottom. This technique is so highly sought after that museums and private collectors commission Cervin for their own collections.
Cervin offers fashion tights in various colours and designs including Arabesque motifs, floral designs, geometrical lines, ankle tattoo designs, and stripes and dots. The classic tights are sheer and semi dull with lace waistbands and open or closed derrière. Their fashion stay-ups are beautifully crafted with lace tops and reduced heel design.
Nylon stockings with authentic Edwardian three-thread seam up the back of the leg, Cuban style heels, ankle tattoos, gold and silver seams, and sandal foot styling are the earmarks of this successful company. Fitness tights, knee-highs and silk socks round out Cervin’s product lines.
The 2008-2009 Collection is available for viewing on the Cervin website and it will enchant with its spiral designs, vertical stripes, vintage look, Chinese designs and wooden look stripes. A newer collection will début in the autumn of 2008 called aleXsandro Palombo by CERVIN Paris. The talents of the Italian designer combined with the tradition of Cervin, will make a noteworthy luxury haute couture accessory. Using prestigious embroideries, high quality cashmeres and the finest silk weaves, this will be a must-have collection to adore.
I still prefer Secrets In Lace for Nylon Stockings, though.

A must-see from TLP lingerie blog.
“Gorgeous camisoles with lace finishes, knicker style pants in deep rich colours, and pretty matching bra and panty sets make up the winter collection. Summer sees translucent black garments with long lines of white lace embellishments, wonderful white bras with gathered bust and delicate accent bow, frilly pink colored chemises, and canary yellow bra and matching panty sets.”

Body suits come in short versions like the teddy or full stocking suits from neck to ankles. Basically a body suit is a one piece garment that covers the top of the body and attaches at the crotch or it is a full body stocking with legs as well. And have you wondered what purpose a body suit serves?
A teddy type body suit works well when you want your appearance to be neat and tidy. By having the suit attach so it cannot ride up, the back of the garment does not slip out of your pants or skirt in the same way a camisole does. Also, in cooler weather, the teddy or body suit provides added warmth to the back area. And lastly, for some women, wearing the teddy instead of a separate bra and panties is a sexy alternative.
Another practical purpose of body suits is their use in workouts or exercise programs. Leotards, unitards and thong body suits can be very comfortable when participating in yoga and aerobics classes. They allow the body to stretch and contort without hampering the movement or cutting into the skin.
Moreover, body suits or more specifically body stockings have a fun purpose. Many women wear the alluring lace leg stockings around the home as an alternative to other types of sexy lingerie. Quite a few women have actually indicated that they have worn their body stockings in place of panty hose because of how beautiful the suit legs looked with their skirts or dresses.
With so many styles from which choose, from sexy and erotic with open cups, frilly and lacey to be worn with a delicate blouse, and thick and woolly to be worn in the winter, body suits should be required garments in every woman’s wardrobe. Long sleeves, short sleeves, spaghetti straps, underwire cups, open crotch, snap closures, fishnet legs, charmeuse, satin, wool, cashmere, silk, microfiber and lycra, there is no limit to the styles and fabrics of available body suits, teddies and body stockings.
Unfortunately, the drawback to purchasing a body suit is that many stores do not stock the suits as regular items. Some lingerie stores have a few teddies but for the most part, selection is not very good offline. Two online stores that have excellent selections, however, are BodySuit.com and LegAvenue.com.

Kiki de Montparnasse, a lingerie collection that “empowers exploration of fantasy and communication of desire”, creates sophisticated undergarments that can be defined as innerwear or outerwear. Browsing through the Best Sellers selection on the company website, particularly the Amour collection, one can see why this is a fabulously, luxurious line of lingerie. Satin chiffon, French laces and exquisite details embodied in a dreamy flowing Goddess Gown, mini Maiden Slip, wrap teddy, babydoll top and bloomers.

Aside from being a luxury line of lingerie, the pieces offer unique creativity. One of those inventive pieces is the Garter Tank, an ingenious long tank top with satin garters. Another feature of the Kiki collection is the “Pin Up” line. The Sauvage includes a ruffled pin up bra with vintage inspired corset styled ruffled panty both made to resemble the lingerie the Pin Up Girls wore in earlier years.
Not only are the garments impressive, but the two flagship boutiques were created with the same emphasis to detail, luxury and quality as the lingerie. The Los Angeles, California boutique, pretentiously landscaped with gardens, speakeasy-inspired gates and a courtyard fountain, boasts three thousand square feet of space with velvet dressing rooms, fireplace and candles throughout.
And while it should be noted that some of the items are indeed of a fantasy nature, there is nothing trashy or shabby about them. On the contrary, the items are pure extravagance. Take for example the silver tipped riding crop or the feather tickler with leather wrapped handle.
Girlfriends of the bride looking for a bridal shower gift at Kiki, can expect to find a gorgeous and expensively handmade beaded blindfold in silk satin and French lace. Or maybe they prefer to give her the lavish ten foot pearl restraints which come with a price tag of $4200.
Now that is luxury!
The official site is right here. More on Kiki de Montparnasse on The Lingerie Post!

Kaftans are considered lingerie because they are sleepwear, worn as casual wear like nightgowns, and are basically worn around the house. A few years back, there was a major trend where every female received kaftans as their Christmas presents. And who could forget Mrs. Roper on Three’s Company wearing her trademark outfit – the kaftan?
But I noticed that kaftans have made a comeback and lingerie sites are selling beautifully made silk kaftans and excellent quality luxury designs. Today kaftans are being promoted as lingerie for those that prefer to be discreet and they are also being sold as cruise wear. In fact, the cruise wear angle is very popular right now.

Especially gorgeous are the kaftans from the Donalé 2008 Summer Collection. I wish I could give you more information about the designer but I have only been able to confirm that Donalé is an up and coming French designer. I did, however, find a large representation of the collection on Louise Sandberg’s, London website. And what I saw was luxurious and sexy. Made of one hundred percent cotton in fabulous colours of beachside greens, pinks and yellows, classic tones of black and white, and pretty reds, all in gorgeous short and knee-length styles with exquisite hand embroidery.

These kaftans look wonderful walking the beach or lounging poolside. Summer’s a comin’!
