There is not just one kind of lingerie out there, you know. There are all different kinds. If you want to find out what kind will flatter your body the most, then it is absolutely imperative you know what is out there and how it will — or will not — flatter your body.

For instance, unless you are comfortable with showing off a whole lot of your bod, you may not want to go with the standard bra and panty combo. After all, your stomach, butt, thighs, and hips are all incredibly visible.

If you are looking for a bit more coverage and something that will hide the problem areas, a babydoll may be a better idea for you. It is floaty and feminine but sexy and stylish.

So when I first saw this beautiful lingerie, I thought ‘if only I had the funds’, well, if you do have the funds to afford this beautiful piece, it is definitely a must to have.  This sexy sheer open babydoll lingerie with matching g-string is definitely one of the coolest looking and all around most beautiful pieces that I have ever laid eyes on.  The black scorpion embroidery is definitely something that am I into, it gives off kind of a tattooed look and feel.

The greatest thing about this babydoll is the way that it is shaped.  Honestly, I do not think that I have ever seen a top quite like this and to be honest, I thought it was not only beautiful but it is also something that is so unique, so different and so one-of-a-kind, that I had to look up the designer!

Luxxa is the designer of this beautiful piece and when I looked at their collection, oh it blew me away!  So go on people, take a look at Luxxa lingerie and I promise that you will not be disappointed in the least!

Kiki de Montparnasse, a lingerie collection that “empowers exploration of fantasy and communication of desire”, creates sophisticated undergarments that can be defined as innerwear or outerwear. Browsing through the Best Sellers selection on the company website, particularly the Amour collection, one can see why this is a fabulously, luxurious line of lingerie. Satin chiffon, French laces and exquisite details embodied in a dreamy flowing Goddess Gown, mini Maiden Slip, wrap teddy, babydoll top and bloomers.

Aside from being a luxury line of lingerie, the pieces offer unique creativity. One of those inventive pieces is the Garter Tank, an ingenious long tank top with satin garters. Another feature of the Kiki collection is the “Pin Up” line. The Sauvage includes a ruffled pin up bra with vintage inspired corset styled ruffled panty both made to resemble the lingerie the Pin Up Girls wore in earlier years.

Not only are the garments impressive, but the two flagship boutiques were created with the same emphasis to detail, luxury and quality as the lingerie. The Los Angeles, California boutique, pretentiously landscaped with gardens, speakeasy-inspired gates and a courtyard fountain, boasts three thousand square feet of space with velvet dressing rooms, fireplace and candles throughout.

And while it should be noted that some of the items are indeed of a fantasy nature, there is nothing trashy or shabby about them. On the contrary, the items are pure extravagance. Take for example the silver tipped riding crop or the feather tickler with leather wrapped handle.

Girlfriends of the bride looking for a bridal shower gift at Kiki, can expect to find a gorgeous and expensively handmade beaded blindfold in silk satin and French lace. Or maybe they prefer to give her the lavish ten foot pearl restraints which come with a price tag of $4200.

With spring just around the corner, I can smell the sweet scent of garden weddings and I hear the pretty wedding bells chiming in the wind. This is the perfect time of the year to discuss bridal lingerie, as many women will be looking for undergarments to suit their gowns for their spring or summer weddings. I further wanted to spotlight luxury pieces that were handmade and of the utmost quality or so intricately created that they seemed like custom pieces to each bride who wore them.

Verde Veronica, from Italy, unveils the real scenery of a wedding with their Melody Bridal Collection. Sophistication, elegance and prestige are the underpinnings of this fine lingerie ensemble. It is easy for the bride to fall into a trance with the luxurious satins and laces that compose this collection. And the crowning glory is the v-shaped rhinestone pendant that adorns the top of each piece.

diki Lingerie, by Diane Rubach of Britain, includes the most glamourous and richest satin and silk garments with beaded sequins. Her “made-to-measure” bridal collection pieces are spectacular. Depending on the colour of the wedding gown, my favourite undergarment is the Tara Basque in delicate gold lace and exquisite gold embroidery. The beautiful part about wearing this gorgeous piece of workmanship is once the wedding gown is off and the honeymoon starts, other pieces of the collection may be added for a romantic effect. The gold lace jacket in long sleeves with the basque and matching thong or brief would make any wedding a memorable occasion.

Ophelia Fancy, handmade vintage inspired lingerie, instantly became recognized in the UK when winning the ‘Individual Designer Award’ at the Swatch Alternative Fashion Week 06. Their Silver Sixpence Bridal Collection is refined and dream-like. Imagine wearing lingerie proudly created with Swarovski crystals and the most expensive silks and laces. Here is their description of one of the bridal bras in the collection: “These pretty halter bras are created from pannels of ivory silk dupion and every seam is edged in soft ivory ribbon threaded lace topped with genuine Swarovski hot fix flat crystals they also feature two stunning crystal buttons.” The Pearl over Bust Corset is touted as the best one can buy and is “pattern perfected by one of the oldest running corset companies in the UK”. Pleated lace, beaded drop pearls and satin bow make this corset stunning.

And lastly, no wedding lingerie ensemble would be complete without the traditional garter. Bridal Angel in New Jersey, USA has a pretty selection of handmade garters from which to choose.

Belabumbum, which is actually pronounced BelaBoomBoom, offers the most luxurious and fanciful maternity lingerie collection that would make any woman jealous. Playful and comfortable loungewear, sexy lace foundation wear and cute single and double piece bathing suits make it very difficult to believe these designs are made for pregnant women.

Their baby doll and pant sets are made to be worn, both to bed when sleeping and comfortably around the house, as the tops have adjustable straps and fully lined cups for extra support. The collection also offers nursing bras and panties in both a brief and thong style.

Belabumbum boasts all the right customers, too. They sell to many stars and are actually written up quite regularly when it becomes known that another celebrity is wearing their lingerie. Their Fall – Winter 2008 Maternity Collection will be shown in New York the last week of February. This excellent Madame V collection just made it onto The Lingerie Post’s homepage, and seeing as I absolutely adore the photos, it’s time for some more linklove their way!
