Kimora Lee Simmons. Incredibly beautiful and exotic to the core, it would be fair to say that chic and haute couture are Kimora’s ruling mantra.

To be perfectly honest, I had never heard of her before last night when watching a reality television show, which is something I never do. I was clicking through the channels and when I saw Kimora, even though I am a woman, I stopped dead in my tracks because her absolute beauty and poise stunned me.

If you are not familiar with her biography, Kimora has the distinction of being personally chosen by Karl Lagerfeld for the House of Chanel, at the age of thirteen years. And she continues more than twenty years later to dazzle, capture attention and empower women to look and feel gorgeous.

As the creative director of Baby Phat, Kimora addresses the specific needs of women to flaunt their beauty. This is evident in the inordinate amount of emphasis she places on detail. Beautiful, colorful fabrics and ultra feminine accents of lace trimmings, sweet little bows in just the right places and flouncy ruffles on the bottoms of the camisole and chemise designs. Who wouldn’t want to wear these elaborate creations?

Kimora embellishes her line of lingerie with rhinestones set on satin, fancy foil writings on cotton and finally the metallic logo imprinted with the famous cat. Apparently, she was inspired by her beloved cat that passed away and the logo for Baby Phat was born. What I find striking about the big, bold, in-your-face-logo is that with so many designers, the logo becomes gauche looking whereas with Kimora’s designs the logo seems to give the piece an air of elegance and richness.

Indeed, this line may be defined as lingerie, but it is classy and formal enough to be worn outdoors as part of an everyday ensemble. Think of one of these beautiful camisoles worn under a suit jacket or dress up your designer jeans with the incredible dress-like chemise.
