The Fuzzy Line between Outerwear and Innerwear
Posted in Bebe, Camisole, Chemise, Lisi Valle, Slip on April 4th, 2008 by LLS – Be the first to commentMany women have been seen wearing their lingerie as outer clothing in recent years. Bustiers look great as tops and bras and panties have doubled as bathing suits.
One designer, whose line works dually inside and out, is Lisi Valle, a Cuban designer with a long history in the fashion market. Her Spring 2008 collection showcases models wearing her lingerie in outside shots on the grass, in gardens, on verandas and poolside. To be honest, the settings seem natural for Lisi’s gorgeous designs. And the final touch to her rich and luxurious products is the mauve cotton organdy bag. A stickler for details and meticulous in her designs, Lisi believes the packaging is just as important as the design itself. The packaging lends credibility to the value of the product so each item goes home in her traditional mauve cotton organdy bag.
Another designer who promoted the niche of wearing inner clothing outside was “bebe” under the direction of founder and present chairman Manny Mashouf. One camisole design was launched and it sold out almost instantly encouraging bebe to design and produce many more styles to meet the market demand.
Indeed, in the future more designs will lend themselves to be worn as outer clothing rather than undergarments.
